Honeywell International Misses on Revenues but Beats on EPS
Honeywell International (NYS: HON) reported earnings on Oct. 19. Here are the numbers you need to know.

For the quarter ended Sep. 30 (Q3), Honeywell International missed slightly on revenues and beat expectations on earnings per share.
Compared to the prior-year quarter, revenue was unchanged and GAAP earnings per share expanded.
Margins grew across the board.
Honeywell International recorded revenue of $9.34 billion. The 18 analysts polled by S&P Capital IQ predicted net sales of $9.51 billion on the same basis. GAAP reported sales were 0.5% higher than the prior-year quarter's $9.30 billion.

EPS came in at $1.20. The 18 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ anticipated $1.13 per share. GAAP EPS of $1.20 for Q3 were 10% higher than the prior-year quarter's $1.09 per share. (The prior-year quarter included $0.22 per share in earnings from discontinued operations.)

For the quarter, gross margin was 27.1%, 270 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 13.9%, 360 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 10.2%, 90 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $9.73 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $1.12.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $38.04 billion. The average EPS estimate is $4.48.
