Hill+Knowlton Strategies Names Andy Weitz Co-Lead of Global Corporate Advisory Practice

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Hill+Knowlton Strategies today announced that Andy Weitz, U.S. Chief Operating Officer, will join Vice Chair Andrew Laurence as co-chair of the agency's Global Corporate Advisory Practice. The move recognizes the expanding need to provide an increasing number of clients with high-level corporate services across the globe - particularly in developing and rapidly-growing markets.

Weitz will initially focus on the development of corporate services for H+K Strategies' clients in the U.S. region, while Laurence will focus on international markets. In addition to serving existing clients and leading new business efforts, the two will be jointly responsible for creating new products and strategic services that recognize and meet changing client needs; driving further development of a truly global, consistent and industry-leading corporate offering; and spearheading the internal training and advancement of corporate practitioners across H+K.

"In today's business environment, an empowered public with 24/7 access to information has forced the communications industry to redefine itself," said Jack Martin, global chairman and CEO of H+K Strategies. "Andy is one of our most trusted C-suite counselors and an emerging thought leader in this space. He understands how to build communications strategies that drive real business value for our clients. His innovative perspective on corporate reputation, coupled with Andrew's international experience, will position us for even greater success as corporate advisors."

Weitz has played a leadership role on numerous large crisis engagements and high-profile transactions during his time with the firm. In addition, he developed many of the consulting and measurement tools that have become the basis for H+K's industry-leading reputation management methodology.

Before transitioning into the role of U.S. Chief Operating Officer, Weitz was a senior strategist at Public Strategies, Inc. and led the firm's integration with Hill & Knowlton in early 2011. Prior to joining Public Strategies, Weitz was president of gDev, a division of Trilogy, Inc. and a senior vice president at Marsh, Inc. where he was a member of the strategic planning team and led U.S. product development.

In his new role, Weitz will report to Vice Chair of Global Practices, Vivian Lines. He will work closely with regional leadership and general managers to provide support to the firm's client leads and new business efforts.

"Andy has a unique ability to frame communications challenges in business terms that clients can relate to," said Dan Bartlett, president and CEO of Hill+Knowlton Strategies U.S. "He has a special appreciation for the power of research and how data-driven insights can be used to streamline corporate decision-making. Andy has been a critical member of my management team and I will continue to rely on his counsel, but will now be able to position him more readily on critical client engagements."

H+K's Corporate Advisory Group, which the firm launched this February, will continue to operate alongside the Global Corporate Advisory Practice to provide multidisciplinary strategic advice to C-suite clients.
