Aetna Extends Online Health and Wellness Program to AARPEssential Premier Health Insurance Members

HARTFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Beginning today, Aetna (NYSE: AET) is making its Simple Steps To A Healthier Life® Programavailable to policy-holders of AARP® Essential Premier Health Insurance, insured by Aetna. The online program, which is already available to Aetna's employer customers, includes a simple health assessment to help members understand their current health and possible health risks. The program also features online wellness coaching programs to help members:

  • Get in shape
  • Eat healthier
  • Lose weight
  • Quit smoking
  • Cope better with stress

"A person's health status can change as they age. Take 20 minutes to improve your health

Before starting a new health and wellness program, it's important that members know their current health. As part of the health assessment, members will be asked questions about their health history and health habits. Health assessment responses are confidential; however, Aetna does use the information to identify members who may need nurse outreach.

Once the health assessment is complete, members will receive personalized reports based on their results. The reports can help members to:

  • Uncover health risks they may not be aware of
  • Identify health concerns that need more attention
  • Create an action plan to reduce their risks for certain diseases and conditions, and stay healthy

Members can print and share the reports with their doctor, or create customized goals for their personal use.

AARP Essential Premier Health Insurance members can access the Simple Steps To A Healthier Life Program through www.AARPAetnaNavigator.com, Aetna's secure member website.
