Higher One's New Work Approach Champions Employee Wellness, Lifestyle, and Results

NEW HAVEN, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Higher One, a leader in providing financial services and data analytics to over 1,250 college and university campuses across the U.S., has been named third on the list of Connecticut's Top Workplaces 2012. This is the second year in a row that Higher One has been selected as one of The Hearst Connecticut Workplaces.

The Top Workplaces are determined based solely on employee feedback. The survey is conducted by WorkplaceDynamics, LLP, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement. WorkplaceDynamics conducts regional Top Workplaces programs with more than 30 major publishing partners and recognizes a National list of Top Workplaces.

Among the factors that contribute to Higher One employee satisfaction are wellness programs, including a fitness center and free healthy lunch provided in Higher One's on-site cafés, as well as the company's unique work approach. Called "Living Focus," this new way of working eliminates the mindset of set office hours—employees work when and where they are most effective and the focus remains on meeting individual and departmental goals as well as customer expectations. Employees are able to choose the work style that suits their lifestyle, empowering them with flexibility and boosting their productivity and focus on what matters.

"Being listed a second year in a row is an honor bestowed to us by our committed employees who help us stay on top through their insightful feedback," said Sharron Gasior, Vice President of Human Resources at Higher One. "As we grow in Connecticut and nationally, we will continue to champion employee wellness, lifestyle, and a focus on results—a concept our employees embrace and embody each and every day."

Recognized as Corporate Citizen of the Year, this year Higher One adds its 2012 Top Workplaces award to other accolades, including being named to Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces, Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 and Connecticut Technology Council's Marcum Tech Top 40.
