The International Trade Commission ruled in Apple Inc.'s (NASDAQ: AAPL) favor in a patent dispute bought by arch-rival Samsung. Suits have gone back and forth between the two companies around the world as each tries to get an edge in the lucrative smartphone markets. Apple recently scored a victory when a district court found that Samsung has violated seven of its patents

The ITC reported in Apple's favor on patents for wireless communications and portable music devices

Bloomberg reported that ITC Judge James Gildea:

there was no infringement of any of the four patents in the ITC case, and also determined that Samsung had not proven it had a domestic industry that used the patents, a requirement that is unique to the trade agency. The judge didn't provide the reasons behind his findings. The opinion will become public after both sides get a chance to redact confidential information.
