Why the Dow Is Rebounding Today

In today's midday market update, industrials editor and analyst Brendan Byrnes talks about the Dow's slight rebound today. Data showed that retail sales in the U.S. increased more than expected in July, rising 0.8% versus expectations of 0.3%. The economy looks to be trying to gain some momentum after some recent positive jobs and housing data. Home Depot also provided good news for investors, reporting earnings that beat expectations and raising its earnings outlook for the fiscal year. That's also good news for the housing recovery, as the home improvement retailer sells so many necessary materials for the industry.
