QR Energy (NYS: QRE) reported earnings on Aug. 9. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.22. The four earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.33 per share. GAAP EPS of $2.15 for Q2 were 389% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.44 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 58.6%, 1,370 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 10.1%, 6,580 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 159.3%, 10,900 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.

Looking ahead
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $78.1 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.32.

Next year's average estimate for revenue is $308.1 million. The average EPS estimate is $1.33.
