Alon USA Energy (NYS: ALJ) reported earnings on March 8. Here are the numbers you need to know.

Non-GAAP EPS came in at -$0.78. The five earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted -$0.11 per share on the same basis. GAAP EPS was -$0.23 for Q4, compared to -$0.47 per share for the prior-year quarter.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 2.9%, 50 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was -0.8%, about the same as the prior-year quarter. Net margin was -0.7%, 120 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.

Looking ahead
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $1.90 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.08.

Next year's average estimate for revenue is $7.56 billion. The average EPS estimate is $1.50.
