Qlik Technologies Misses Where It Counts
Qlik Technologies (NAS: QLIK) reported earnings on Feb. 16. Here are the numbers you need to know.

For the quarter ended Dec. 31 (Q4), Qlik Technologies met expectations on revenues and missed expectations on earnings per share.
Compared to the prior-year quarter, revenue expanded significantly and GAAP earnings per share improved significantly.
Margins improved across the board.
Qlik Technologies logged revenue of $108.1 million. The 14 analysts polled by S&P Capital IQ predicted revenue of $107.8 million on the same basis. GAAP reported sales were 33% higher than the prior-year quarter's $81.4 million.

Non-GAAP EPS came in at $0.23. The 17 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ averaged $0.26 per share on the same basis. GAAP EPS of $0.18 for Q4 were 50% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.12 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 91.6%, 100 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 24.3%, 370 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 14.5%, 150 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $77.9 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is -$0.06.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $409.5 million. The average EPS estimate is $0.41.
The stock has a four-star rating (out of five) at Motley Fool CAPS, with 446 members out of 473 rating the stock outperform, and 27 members rating it underperform. Among 143 CAPS All-Star picks (recommendations by the highest-ranked CAPS members), 136 give Qlik Technologies a green thumbs-up, and seven give it a red thumbs-down.
