Assassin's CreedYou know what's cool? Assassins. You know what's even cooler? The assassin(s): Altaïr (and Ezio). What could be cooler still--if it's done right--is a new Assassin's Creed game to hit GREE, Japan's mobile social game network gone global, this December in Japanese and English. This announcement marks an agreement between GREE and French franchise creator Ubisoft.

No details were given on the upcoming GREE-exclusive Assassin's Creed game other than that it will be available for Android devices as well as iPhone and iPad. That means this upcoming game could be anything from an acrobatic stab-'em-up to a farming game. (Fingers crossed!) GREE also announced a new agreement with another French game maker, Gameloft.

Gang Domination, a mobile social gangster-themed card game, will be released by Gameloft on GREE in both Japanese and English this coming June. A genre that's extremely popular in Japan, this social card game will allow players to work with and against each other to build the largest gang around. According to GREE, those familiar with the popular Gangstar franchise will feel right at home.

"Social card games are considered the most popular social games in Japan. 'Gang Domination' will be Gameloft's first social card game, and we're thrilled to work on this project with a leading player in this market such as GREE," Gameloft president and founder Michel Guillemot said in a release. (We'll see whether the same applies in the U.S. this summer.) GREE is expected to go global between this upcoming April and June, technology partnerships, game studios and all.

Are you psyched about the announcement of a new Assassin's Creed game? What do you hope it will be like, and is this enough for GREE to differentiate itself from Mobage? Sound off in the comments. Add Comment.
