Medivation was last week's biggest winner, more than doubling after reporting encouraging news on its promising prostate cancer treatment. Medivation's MDV3100 was shown to extend the lives of late-stage patients -- those where chemotherapy failed to eradicate the cancer -- by five months.

DragonWave was already having a strong week before announcing it would be buying the microwave technology business of Nokia Siemens Networks. The deal was enough to propel DragonWave's shares 41% higher on Friday alone.

Leap Wireless -- the company behind the Cricket prepaid wireless service -- climbed after posting robust quarterly results. Subscribers and revenue are growing, and churn is improving.

Chinese electronics manufacturer Nam Tai posted a soft quarterly report but bounced back after offering a rosy sales growth outlook for next year. Nam Tai is also raising its quarterly dividend by 40%.

Unlike rival Abercrombie & Fitch (NYS: ANF) -- which tanked after posting disappointing sales trends overseas -- trendy mall retailer Aeropostale took off after raising its guidance for its fiscal third quarter.

It was a great week for these five stocks. Now let's see if they're up for an encore.
