Ok Zynga, I'll hand it to you: this one is a good idea. If you've spent the last few weeks adding nothing but Halloween-themed housing in your town in CityVille, you're likely wondering what to do with it all now that the holiday has come and gone. Sure, these items look great, and I doubt many would just want to sell or delete them, but they do take up a lot of room. Solving that issue (at least for most players) will be the Scream Acres Neighborhood, which has been released specifically to store Halloween-themed residences. As a note, this neighborhood is a permanent addition to the store, if you wish to have your spooky-themed homes out on display a while longer.

First and foremost, this Scream Acres Neighborhood has been released alongside the "Welcome Casket" goal, which simply asks you to place one in your town. You'll receive 1,000 coins for doing so.

From there, you'll need to whack on the base six times (spending six energy) to complete the frame's construction. You'll receive two storage spaces in the Neighborhood instantly, and will then need to ask three neighbors to come be the staff for this "Block 1" of the Neighborhood. Each friend unlocks another storage slot, until you've filled your first five with homes.

Once that's done, you'll be able to unlock Blocks 2 and 3 by collecting building ingredients. Block 2 requires the following:

  • 4 Petrified Wood
  • 4 Creaking Tiles
  • 4 Green Bulbs
  • 4 Crumbling Bricks
  • 4 Lanterns

For this upgrade process, the Petrified Wood pieces and Creaking Tiles are earned through generic wall posts you'll send to your news feed, while the other three items are earned through individual gift requests sent to those friends that you think would be most likely to help you.

Once you've gone through the process of asking more friends to staff the rest of Block 2, you'll be able to complete this item collection task yet again, collecting eight of each item, rather than four, to unlock Block 3. Once that one's staffed, you'll be able to store the full amount of 15 Halloween houses in your Scream Acres. It may be a long, even tiring process, but once you look at all of that free space you've reclaimed in your town, you'll likely agree that it was worth it.
