Pioneer Trail Ghost Town Shagbark Tree: Everything you need to know

Before you go, we thought you'd like these...

The second portion of Pioneer Trail's Ghost Town event sees you using each of your teammates' skill sets to collect three keys to unlock the mansion where the evil Mayor is hiding out. As part of the Shaman goals, you'll need to build a Shagbark Tree on your basic Homestead. This Shagbark Tree, like the Giant Cauldron before it, is a new building project that comes with a trio of three goals. The goals only become available after you purchase the tree from the game's store (for around 1,000 coins), but you'll need to complete them all to make the most out of the Ghost Town event itself.

Grow a Tall One
  • Harvest 30 Sunflowers
  • Tend 30 Neigbhor Apple Trees
  • Ask friends for 20 Raisins

As you wait for your Sunflowers to grow, you can start working on the construction of the Shagbark Tree proper. This one requires the following ingredients to build (yes, I know it's a bit odd being forced to "build" a tree, but I digress).

  • 10 Mighty Trunks
  • 10 Green Spirits
  • 10 Big Oak Fertilizers
  • 15 Suspicious Saps
  • 15 Purple Spiders
  • 15 Leafy Greens

The Mighty Trunks, Green Spirits and Big Oak Fertilizers are earned through general requests you'll post to your wall, while the other three items are earned by sending out individual requests to those friends that you think would be most likely to help you.

  • Harvest 50 Corn
  • Harvest 50 Wheat
  • Collect 25 Plant Spikes

This one's all about the farming, so just clear out a large space on your land and plant the Corn (a 12-hour crop) and the Wheat (a 24-hour crop) and ask your friends to send you Plant Spikes while you wait for them to grow.

Green Thumb Lovin'
  • Clear 30 Wildflowers on Neighbors' Homesteads
  • Collect 2 Daily Bonuses from the Shagbark Tree
  • Collect 20 Blackbird houses

For the Wildflower task, it will be easier to complete it if you scroll to the far left end of your friends' list and visit the Homesteads of neighbors that have stopped playing the game. Their Homesteads will likely be incredibly cluttered with all kinds of debris, and you can easily rack up 30 Wildflowers with little effort.

Again, while this Shagbark Tree may be a voluntary building project, you'll eventually need to craft items inside it to use back in Ghost Town, so if you have any intention of completing the Ghost Town Halloween event, you'll want to start the construction o your Shagbark Tree as soon as possible. Good luck finishing everything in time!

What do you think of the Shagbark Tree? Do you wish this year's Halloween event came with more traditional, "happy" Halloween decorations, rather than these spooky ones? Sound off in the comments.
