Whoopi Goldberg Drops Price of Vermont Ranch 34%

Whoopi Goldberg Vermont homeWhoopi Goldberg has reduced the price of her partially fenced 745-acre ranch in Vermont. She gave "The View" viewers an exclusive tour of the property back in February 2009, just before she first put it on the market. The home went up for sale on June 19, 2009, for $3.5 million and is now listed for $2.3 million with Arlene Palmiter of Palmiter Realty Group.

The property, which has barns and a stable, is in the town of Marlboro, known for Marlboro College and the Marlboro Music Festival. (See our 20+ photo gallery of Whoopi Goldberg's ranch.)

"It is a very rural town with a lot of dirt roads," Valerie at Palmiter Realty told AOL Real Estate. "There is a post office, a church and a hall."
Most of the townsfolk are college employees and students; the area is not a big vacation spot, she said. As for the winter: "It is a little bit farther than some people want to travel for skiing."

Well, we don't see this Oscar-winning Best Supporting Actress as much of a skier, anyway. In a BBC interview, seen in the video below, she calls herself "weird" and "odd" and says that's why she lives in the mountains. The home, however, seems to reflect her casual but eclectic style.

The 4-bedroom, 4-bath home is 6,100 square feet. According to the listing details, when the Robinson-Winchester Farm was renovated and remodeled in 2004, "no expense was spared" for this 1790 colonial home.

There is also a two-bedroom guesthouse and 15 miles of groomed woodland trails covering 67 acres of pasture, and there is a pond and a stream.

The listing adds that this is a "unique property owned by a high profile celebrity. Once in a lifetime opportunity!"

Goldberg also owns a 9,486 square-foot mansion in New Jersey that she purchased in 2009, reported the Real Estalker. That Llewellyn Park home has 8 bedrooms, 6 full and 2 half bathrooms, a carriage house and a servant's house.
