The owner of a hotel that complained loudly that its inclusion on the TripAdvisor "Top 10 Dirtiest Hotels" list was unfair, has been arrested on child pornography charges.

The Desert Inn hotel in Daytona Beach, Fla., was listed as third nastiest on the controversial TripAdvisor cleanliness list, but claimed in a statement that most of its customers were repeat guests, implying that its quality couldn't be that bad, and that TripAdvisor had tried to sell the property an ad.

This week, Desert Inn owner Dennis Devlin, 57, is in a county jail on charges of promoting child pornography. The arrest stems from alleged incidents at the hotel involving a 13-year-old boy, reports the Daytona Beach News-Journal.

Devlin and a co-defendant, Michel Ehmen, 20, a hotel employee, are accused of filming the boy naked and in sexual acts at the property.

The incidents are alleged to have taken place in Devlin's two-room suite at the hotel

A call from the teenager's grandmother sparked a raid of the 224-room property this week by about 70 FBI agents and police.

Authorities removed boxes of evidence including iPhones found hidden in a ceiling and used to photograph sexual acts, as well as sexually explicit DVDs, according to an affidavit.

Police say Ehmen brought the boy to the hotel using the ruse that the teenager had a job at the property. But after two visits in January, the boy told his grandmother what was going on and that Devlin had paid him more than $100.

"I think he (Devlin) uses the hotel as a front for other sex crimes," Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood told city commissioners this week. "What I do know is that this (the hotel) is a den of iniquity."

The chief said it's likely there are other victims.

Devlin was charged with one count of promoting sexual activity with a child and one count of lewd and lascivious acts with a child, according to the News-Journal. Ehmen was being held on similar charges.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Orlando is also expected to pursue federal charges against Devlin, the newspaper says.

Police said Devlin has been arrested before on allegations of paying teens money to pose nude.
