Hard Rock Hotels and Casinos has once again teamed up with Gibson Guitars to offer guests the chance to borrow a top-of-the-line guitar and jam out in their hotel room – an amenity that comes at no extra cost.

The "Check In, Rock Out" program, which debuted at Hard Rock Hotel Chicago in August 2009, will launch at Hard Rock Hotel San Diego this Thursday. Legendary musician Zakk Wylde, the former guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne and founder of heavy metal band Black Label Society, is scheduled to make a special appearance and play a few of the 14 guitars the hotel is set to lend out.

"This program is an ideal amenity for Hard Rock and we always envisioned it as part of Hard Rock Hotels," Blake Smith, the Global Music and Marketing Manager for Hard Rock International tells AOL Travel News.

Smith says the idea for the program "came about when artists staying with Hard Rock let us know that guitars in rooms would be a great add in case they became inspired in the middle of the night."

Novice guitar players are more than welcome to try out guitars, too. In fact, the hotel will loop lessons from Guitar World Magazine on the in-room channels.

Hotel guests looking to actually catch a few winks don't need to worry about the hotel turning into a noisy practice space. Guitars come with a pocket amp and headphones so that "neighbors aren't blasted away," says Smith.

Guests who want to rock out in the privacy of their own hotel room can keep the guitar for their entire stay so long as they fill out a 'Loaner Agreement' and have a major credit card on file.

Smith says the program has been so well received in Chicago additional guitars had to be added in order to meet demands. Once the "Check In, Rock Out" program gets off the ground in San Diego the hotel chain may offer guitars at additional properties.
