Photos are an important part of any family vacation. After all, these treasured times are something to remember. Pictures at Disneyland are no exception. These happy-faced images take center stage on fireplace mantles, are featured in scrapbooks and even sent out as Christmas cards. It's important to get just the right photo. Here are some suggestions for capturing that perfect family memory.

Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland

Pose with your family on the bridge in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Best as a vertical shot, you can shoot a wide shot also. Position it right and you can even get some of the surrounding greenery in the shot. The one drawback is that this is a very busy location. You'll have to work around passing guests.

Mickey's Toontown at Disneyland

If you have little ones, head over to Mickey's Toontown. While there are good photo ops everywhere here, one of the best settings is the car in front of Mickey's House. Little ones love "driving" it. Since they're having so much fun, it's easy to take a good picture. Be sure to stop by Mickey and Minnie's House. Maybe you can get a picture with them as well.

Flower Garden Mickey at Disneyland

This beautiful garden is easy to spot, and is located just after you enter Disneyland. The colorful blooms will create a nice backdrop for your family photograph. The detailed character topiaries, designed by Disneyland Resort Topiary Engineers, are worth the picture alone.

Tomorrowland at Disneyland

The grand Tomorrowland statue is a good spot for photos; however, don't try for a family close-up on this one. You'll have to stand back in order to get the Tomorrowland statue and the family all in one shot.

Paradise Pier at Disney California Adventure

Position your subjects in front of the bay that is home to "World of Color," at Disney California Adventure. You'll capture the essence of the park, although the picture will have to be a wide shot to capture it all.

New Orleans Square at Disneyland

Take your photo along the river at New Orleans Square-or just about anywhere in this colorful neighborhood. You'll find lots of flowers, unique buildings and classic New Orleans atmosphere as your backdrop.

Soarin' over California at Disney California Adventure Park

Stand your photo subjects in front of the bright red airplane near Soarin' over California. You're going for a tight family shot here, and the airplane makes a nice background prop. It also allows family members to show off their personality as they pose with the plane.

Partners statue at Disneyland

The famous Partners statue features Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse holding hands. It is located at the end of Main Street, U.S.A. If you stand back a little, you can get your family and the statue all into one shot.

Photos with Disney Characters

Don't forget to take some photos with Disney characters. They can be found in Town Square on Main Street, U.S.A, and in Mickey's Toontown, where they live. They're also found all over the park. Tinker Bell appears in Pixie Hollow, the Princesses can be found in Fantasyland, and Aladdin and Jasmine can often be seen in Adventureland. Check your Disneyland Times guide for exact schedules.
