Marvel May Kill Off At Least One 'Spider-Man'

It looks like at least one of the versions of the popular 48-year-old character Spider Man will be killed off early next year. Marvel Entertainment said Tuesday that it will release a new comic-book series titled "Death of Spider-Man" in February as part of its Ultimate Comics line. It'll be written by Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Millar.

Spider-Man, originally created by the legendary Stan Lee, first appeared in a Marvel comic book in 1962. The Ultimate Comics storyline won't affect the more mainstream "Adventures of Spider-Man."

Walt Disney (DIS) acquired Marvel Entertainment late last year for about $4 billion in cash and stock.
