Dunkin' Donuts -- Jobs Sweet Spot

Before you go, we thought you'd like these...

Dunkin' Donuts opens its 16,000 location.

That Dunkin' Donuts store is in Shenzhen, China. Earlier in the week it opened stores in Rhode Island and Spain.

No surprise then, Dunkin' Donuts is the jobs sweet spot with help wanted ads popping up across the country -- Dunkin' Donuts crew members in Boston, Mass., shift leaders in Tallahassee, Fla., and both crew members and shift leaders in Bound Brook, N.J. Compensation for many of the jobs ranges from $20,000 to $40,000.

There's more. Dunkin' Donuts values a diverse workforce. In New Castle, Pa., Ruth Cassella, a few months shy of her 80th birthday, has been honored by Pittsburgh Metro Dunkin' Donuts as one of the 2010 Sweetest Employee winners. For a quarter of a century, Cassella has been behind the counter serving millions of cups of coffee.

In volunteer work with recovered substance abusers, I met a man who had recently been released from prison. He cried when he told me that a Connecticut Dunkin' Donuts manager had hired him. She knew his story and was giving him a chance. I cried too.

Given the ongoing growth of Duckin' Donuts, if you want a job, just go in a Dunkin' Donuts store and find out if it's hiring. If it isn't, then ask what other Dunkin' Donuts stores might be. Sometimes there are help wanted signs right on the window.
