Mafia Wars Las Vegas

Featured in a post on the Mafia Wars blog that has since been brought down, Zynga will be hosting an inaugural Mafia Wars fan convention called "Mafia Wars: MADE" in Las Vegas this October 15 and 16. The big event will be held at the Palms Casino and Resort and feature 12 discussion panels, night club outings and even a "live job" wherein convention goers can earn exclusive prizes. Here's a full list of what will be going down this October:

• Get an exclusive in-game item MADE by entering the Mafia Wars "Get MADE" contest.
• Participate in an exciting "live job" with other players and win in-game prizes and points.
• Select from a list of 12 discussion panels where you can get information and ask questions directly to the team.
• Hang out by the pool, the bar, or the club with other Mafia Wars players and members of the team.
• Purchase limited edition Mafia Wars merchandise.
• Receive in-game items and other gifts from the team.
• Get early access to the next exciting destination.

According to the official blog post, tickets went on early sale yesterday on their Eventbrite page at a 15 percent discount on both "Mogul" (VIP) and "Mafia" (General Admission) tickets, but the discounted Mogul passes--which were going for $399.00--have already sold out. As of this writing, you can still get discounted Mafia passes for $229.00, with standard price being $269.00.

You might want to sit down for this one: regular sale price for Mogul tickets is $469.00. We know, that's probably more than the netbook that you're playing the game on cost you. Check out this discussion thread on the Mafia Wars Facebook page for more details on what might be happening at this exclusive, unannounced event.

Update: The post on the Mafia Wars Blog is now live. Check it out for more details!
