Disney joins Playdom

Since Disney bought Playdom recently, we haven't seen much direct influence from the company in Playdom's games. Until now. In Social City, players can now play a spin game to win eight different buildings to complete an entire Disney theme park.

The ultimate prize for getting the first seven items, drawn directly from the existing amusement parks, is none other than Cinderella's Castle. Now, that will make your city the talk of all your neighbors. Unfortunately, each spin costs 10 City Bucks, or about $2. While that doesn't seem like a lot, each spin isn't guaranteed to give up a new item on the list.

Join us behind the cut for a list of the eight Disney items you can win and what this might mean for the future of Playdom games.
Spin the wheel to win Disney items

Spinning the roulette can get one of these seven items:

  • Matterhorn Bobsleds
  • Haunted Mansion
  • It's a Small World
  • Big Thunder Mountain
  • "Partners" Statue featuring Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse
  • Space Mountain
  • Mad Tea Party

Winning all seven will get you the Cinderella's Castle item too (and a lot of Happiness points), but consider this process is completely random you could be spending a lot of City Bucks on this one. With Disney directly injecting itself into Social City, who knows who are what might appear in Playdom's other games.

Could Disney characters like Stitch appear in Wild Ones or the Disney Princesses in Sorority Life? Will Disney begin to censor Playdom's more adult-themed games like Mobsters or Bar Society? Only time will tell, but we do know now that the winds of change are officially blowing in the Playdom offices.
