Work Theft: Sams Club Employee Busted for Stealing Credit Cards from Customers

A Sam's Club employee in Hanover, MA has been charged with stealing cash from customers, using their credit cards to scam cash back from their accounts. By quickly swiping a customer's credit card after an initial transaction, 22-year-old Guy Diatta would enter a false transaction and choose to receive cash back, which he would then pocket.

Diatta stole money from approximately 15 Sam's Club customers over a seven week period, and was arrested this week for identity theft, theft, forgery, stolen property and access device fraud. While it's hard to prevent something like this from happening - unless of course, you pay in cash - a good rule of thumb is to keep a close eye on bank and credit card statements and have your banking institution alert you if there are any suspicious transactions.
