Luxury line Crystal Cruises says it will return to South Korea on its 2012 World Cruise for the first time since 1994.

The 1,070-passenger Crystal Serenity will call at Busan (formerly known as Pusan), South Korea's second largest city. Other lines also occasionally visit there, including Princess Cruises on Southeast Asia and China itineraries.

The epic 94-day Crystal World Cruise is roundtrip from Los Angeles, embarking Jan. 18, 2012, and visits 35 ports in total. If you can't do the whole shebang, five segments are also available.

The 2012 cruise is the line's 17th annual around-the-world offering.

The itinerary also includes Hawaii, the South Pacific, eastern and western Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Japan, Russia, Alaska, British Columbia and San Francisco.

For the first time, the cruise line is including a three-day overland adventure in Beijing that takes guests to visit sites including the Great Wall, Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square.

The Serenity will spend two nights each in Beijing, Ho Chi Minh City and Hong Kong, and will overnight in Honolulu; Sydney and Perth, Australia; Singapore; Bangkok; Shanghai; and Osaka and Yokohama, Japan.

The ship will make the line's first call ever at Newcastle, Australia.

Pricing for the World Cruise is not yet available. But if you book a 2011 World Cruise segment with Crystal by Sept. 30, you'll save 20 percent on the 2012 sailing.
