Air Passenger Left Sleeping on Plane for Hours
News outlets in Philadelphia are reporting an airline passenger who fell asleep on a commuter flight was left in her seat after the plane landed, only to be discovered several hours later by a cleaning crew.
The woman was reportedly on a short United Airways Express flight from Washington D.C. to Philadelphia International Airport that landed around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, and wasn't discovered until a cleaning crew came onboard around 4 a.m.
CBS3-TV says the woman's name is Ginger McGuire and that she works at a radio station and local TV channel in suburban Detroit.
Typically, flight crew would make sure all passengers get off a plane. The incident is under investigation by United and its regional partner, Trans States Airlines.
United issued a statement saying, "We are working closely with our partner Trans States to investigate the cause and remedy the situation with the customer.
