Questionable Airplane Food: Would You Eat It?

It's bad enough that from this picture, it's hard to tell exactly what fruit or vegetable this could be. But then to know that it has to be sterilized before you can eat it? Scary.

Hmmm, could be. Are you brave enough to find out while traveling 35,000 feet in the air?

This is supposed to be a traditional Waldorf Salad, according to the passenger who snapped this photo. It's actually just apples slathered in mayonnaise, with the added touch of smoked salmon.

This combination of eggs, rice and, uh, a protein surprise seems to be perfect meal for just about any time of the day, don't you think?

You may not recognize anything on this platter, but the real problem for this passenger was the unfamiliar "meat" in the so-called "meat roll."

There are lots of choices for this meal, but it looks like the safest thing to eat is the roll. Oh, and the stalk of cauliflower.

As if the food you can see isn't suspicious enough, this meal has the nerve to have something covered in gravy, too.

Don't let the presentation fool you! According to the passenger who tried it, its just a bowl of bland noodles.

This meal served on an early morning flight could have worked, even with the interesting scoop of brown stuff. But it's the "slimy" gravy that ended up all over the eggs that worried this passenger.
