YoVille Getting Started Guide

Before you go, we thought you'd like these...
yoville getting started guideSo you've decided to give Zynga's little social sim a try. Unlike FarmVille or Mafia Wars, YoVille is not straightforward. In fact, it can be downright confusing to new players thanks to the mixture of many different elements. However, we've got a simple guide for those that want to get started in YoVille and build up an impressive apartment and group of friends. Sometimes games take determination and skill. In this case, you just have to log in every once in a while!

To get started in YoVille, you must complete a few tasks. You must redecorate your apartment, bake some goodies, and introduce yourself to the neighbors. Once you have done all of these tasks, you will be ready to play YoVille. There's more to the game than these, such as the racing, but they are not all that important unless you have time to kill to try and level as quickly as possible.

First off, you must redecorate. This is fairly easy, as you can do so with the plant that the creators give you at the very start. Simply place it anywhere in your room, and this task will be completed. Alternatively, you can also buy some new decorations if you really want to, but we suggest saving your money for later endeavors, such as cooking at the factory. After you've redecorated, it's time to go to work.

Bring up the map. On it you will see the YoVille factory in the top left. This is where you will earn most of your money, as it gives you a lot for relatively little work. Simply check in every six hours. The more friends that you have helping you, the more money you get. It's as easy as that. There are other ways to earn money, and before the current factory, there was one similar to the farming of FarmVille but with sweets cooking.

After you've completed a hard day's work, it's time to socialize. Socialization between your friends and neighbors is broken into several different actions, including gifting, joking, and fighting (with snowballs). You can do it manually, or if you are prompted, do it through a pop-up on the left side of the screen. The pop-ups are genuinely useful because they give you monetary bonuses for completing them as well as counting towards your tasks. You will also be able to take pictures during socialization, which gives you extra cash.

That's all it takes to get started in YoVille! Every thirty minutes or so, these tasks reset, and completing them again gives you a cash bonus. The bonus is not that worth it, however, so continually logging in to do the tasks is not that advisable. It's more of a waste of your time.
