3BR Cottage Now Includes Nuclear Power Plant

Before you go, we thought you'd like these...
A three-bedroom fisherman's cottage on half an acre of land in Kent, England sounds just about perfect -- if you happen to forget to mention that it sits next to two nuclear power plants.

That's what Geering & Colyer, the estate agents who listed the "bungalow" at a modest £247,000 (about $395,000), seemed to be thinking when they listed the property on their website without mentioning the prime location.

When seen in photographs from the front of the property, the adorable fisherman's cottage looks just as advertised: three beds, knotty pine charm, and just a stone's throw from Europe's largest shingle beach. (The acclaimed art movie director, Derek Jarman, even had a holiday home nearby.)

The only problem of course is that when photographed from the other side, Westbeach can be plainly seen to be just 80 yards from Dungeness A and B, two of England's largest nuclear power plants.

The Geering & Colyer makes the location sound absolutely picturesque: "Located on the Dungeness National Nature Reserve is this exceptional detached fisherman's cottage set in approximately half an acre. The property offers three bedrooms, two receptions, loft room, conservatory, kitchen and bathroom. This is a property not to be missed!

Not, unless you are Homer Simpson and require the perfect commute. Check out the photo gallery, here.

Buyer Beware: UK House Next to Nuclear Plant
This three bedroom English cottage was listed for sale at 247,000 euros, but the listing failed to mention it's just 100 yards from the Dungeness A and B nuclear power plants in Kent.
