The Facebook Game That Could Get You Fired

Before you go, we thought you'd like these...
Connecting to games over Facebook has helped people connect in real life, often in many unexpected ways. Now, one of the social network's real-life activities, The Lying Down Game might cost several hospital workers their jobs.

The Lying Down GameThe concept is simple. Members of the game post pictures of themselves lying down in strange places and the rules are quite facile too, "the palms of your hands must be flat against your side and the tips of your toes pointing at the ground. Just as if you were standing, but vertically challenged."

Boasting over 67,000 members from around the world and 15,000 photos, its most famous contributors, a group of workers at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon, England posted Lying Down shots of themselves on the hospital's helipad got them into hot water. Apparently, the hospital's management wasn't pleased when they saw the photos and have placed the workers on suspension with the threat of begin dismissed.

Since France 24 and the BBC reported the story, the group, founded by Somerset, England natives Gary Clarkson and Christian Landon has added more than 1,000 new members. We're still shocked that this hasn't yet shown up on the O'Reilly Hour for the Pinhead of the Week with a dig on the British healthcare system.
