Companies Hiring This Month: September
Everyone -- and I think I can safely say everyone -- is looking for signs of economic recovery and biting their nails in anticipation. Every time the Bureau of Labor Statistics releases new data or the Fed makes a move, we're wondering just what it means.
For the average American, all economic concerns can be boiled down to one question: "Can I get a job if I want one?" or "Will I lose the job I have?"
Right now, plenty of people are having trouble finding work, though the situation seems as if it might be improving. However, companies are definitely hiring throughout the country, even though it might not seem like it. To aid your search, we've put together a list of 10 companies that are definitely hiring in September. Employers still need help, but they want to make sure they're selecting the most qualified candidates -- especially during this period when success is integral to survival, so you need to bring your A game.
"Hiring innovative, talented and motivated people is how we reach our goal,"says Arie Ball, vice president of sourcing and talent acquisition for Sodexo. "With a culture of internal development and promotion and an individual approach to career planning we support and encourage our employees to shape their own future and grow with the company."For employers who want to stay competitive in this economy, it's not just about filling the position; it's about giving the best service possible.
For example, Liberty Tax Service is looking for tax preparers, and while previous experience would be beneficial, it's not mandatory. What they are most concerned about is whether the applicant has strong interpersonal communication skills and a genuine desire to learn about tax preparation, says spokesperson Nina Cunningham.
