As advertisers abandon Glen Beck, will Fox pull his plug?

Can Fox News Channel's Glen Beck survive the desertion of his corporate advertisers? After watching this video clip of him encouraging a guest to argue that the only way to save America is for Osama bin Laden to detonate a major weapon here in the U.S., it made me wonder whether any of the advertisers had actually watched Beck before they bought advertisements.

The list of those former advertisers is growing. For the moment, it includes GMAC Financial Services, ConAgra Foods (CAG), Procter & Gamble (PG), Progressive Insurance (PGR), Geico, Sanofi Adventis (SNY), Roche Holding (RHHBY), Radio Shack (RSH), Men's Warehouse, Lawyers.com, and Sargento.

Are you going to be among those who boycott these former Glen Beck advertisers? Or do you think it's fine for advertisers to bolt when Beck promotes the idea that the U.S. is doomed unless bin Laden explodes a bomb in the U.S.? After all, we have freedom of speech in this country -- and that goes for advertisers too. However, being associated with that kind of free speech may not be good for their business.

And if enough advertisers abandon Beck, perhaps FNC will pull his plug.

Update. More advertisers have pulled their ads from Beck: Allergan (AGN), Broadview Security, CVS (CVS), Re-Bath, and the left-wing socialist liberals at Wal-Mart Stores (WMT)
